40th Anniversary

In 2012 QueenSpark Books will be 40 years old and the longest community run book publisher in the country.

In 1972 QueenSpark started as a campaign to turn the Royal Spa buildings in Queens Park, Brighton into a nursery school rather than a casino.

The success of this campaign and the popularity of the 'Sparks' newspaper inspired people to continue writing and QueenSpark Books as a community publisher was born.

Today, we are still helping the people of Brighton and Hove to tell their stories and will be celebrating our anniversary with a series of events throughout the year. Look out for details.
