| description | We are looking for volunteers to help source historic and contemporary images of Brighton & Hove for our forthcoming on-line Photographic Collection. Some of the image sourcing will be done online, but were also holding public events during October and November where members of the local community can bring along their photographs to be scanned for inclusion. Full training will be provided, so if you are interested in volunteering please call 01273 571710 or email Martin Payne.
PUBLIC PHOTO COLLECTION EVENTS:
Saturday 9th October Jubilee Library, 2pm - 5pm
Saturday 23rd October Saltdean Library, 2pm 5pm
Saturday 6th November Patcham Library, 2pm - 5pm
Saturday 13th November Fabrica Art Gallery, 12 - 4pm
Saturday 20th November Hove Library, 2pm - 5pm
VOLUNTEER TRAINING:
If you are interested in helping at the Public Photo Collection Events you must be able to attend two training sessions to be led by Kevin Bacon - Brighton Museum 's Curator of Photographs.
The first of these sessions will be held on:
Thursday 16 September 2.30pm 4.30pm
During this session you will learn all about copyright issues.
The second training session will be held on:
Thursday 23 September 2pm 5pm
During this practical session you will learn how to use the equipment (scanners and laptops) and about metadata collection.
Both sessions will be held at:
